How it all began

Ashgrove Marketing was founded by Siana Board.

Siana grew up in a small town north of Townsville and has a passion for the Far North Queensland region. Her love of helping visitors create memories came alive while she was casually employed with Magnetic Island Ferries and studying biomedical engineering.

Siana then spent five years working for Magnetic Island Ferries in marketing and customer experience roles. She developed multi-channel, multi-brand campaigns to promote sales on the boat and enhance the visitor experience, managed content for digital platforms and played an integral role in the development and launch of the first ever cruise ship shore excursion attraction.

Siana moved on to the Tourism Marketing Executive at Townsville Enterprise and focused on implementing an annual tourism marketing plan, managing social media, implementing trade and media familiarisation programs and working with regional stakeholders to maximise destination marketing opportunities.

From here Siana discovered a gap in the industry around tourism marketing. With a passion for the community behind the businesses, Siana began freelancing for several tourism operators around Townsville. The freelancing flourished and from this Ashgrove Marketing was born.

The name “Ashgrove” pays hommage to the property which Siana grew up on, just South of Ingham, Queensland. The property boasts beautiful orchids and a spectacular driveway made up of North Queensland Mangoes. The driveway is nicknamed “Mango Avenue” and is the inspiration behind the feel of the company.

Siana takes and active part in the Tourism community with being awarded the opportunity to be a Young Tourism Leader for Queensland 2020 and currently holds a secretary position for the SKAL club here in Townsville.
